At Mick’s Foundry, all adventures are run using the 2024 Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition ruleset. This is the newest version of D&D 5e, offering streamlined gameplay, updated class features and a polished set of mechanics that keep the focus on storytelling, creativity, and exciting fantasy action.
To make sure every table is enjoyable for all players, games at the Foundry begin with short-form campaigns, usually spanning 3–5 sessions. These shorter adventures serve as a way for everyone; including me as the Dungeon Master; to get a feel for the group’s chemistry, playstyle and expectations.
They allow new players to settle in, returning players to find their rhythm, and the entire table to learn whether the dynamic is a good fit. Every group has its own mix of personalities, energy, and pacing, and these introductory arcs help us discover the right combinations naturally.
When the table feels balanced, engaged, and excited to continue those players will be invited to transition into long-form campaigns. These are larger, deeper storylines that unfold over many sessions, with character-driven narratives, evolving world events, and meaningful arcs that grow alongside the party.
